COWENDAR: FREDERICK KIDS TRIATHLON

Holy cow, we thought May would never get here! Now that it's here, we can't wait to kick the racing season off at the TRI-TO "WIN-THE-FIGHT" Frederick Kids Triathlon. Not only does this race benefit a great cause—it's put on by our friends at the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation—it's also the first race of the inaugural Maryland Youth Triathlon Series. We'll be rollin' into Frederick in style too in our new team tri suits, so we should be easy to spot.

It may be Little Christmas, but we're still smiling about the inaugural Kids Adventure BOOathlon at Knill's Farm Market last October. Here's three minutes and 19 seconds of awesome to get you pumped for the 2011 multisport season. And, this season promises to be full of exciting announcements and events, so don't wander too far away from the barn!

Generation Tri

In case you missed the CBS Evening News earlier this evening, we've got you covered. Here's the segment that aired about the growth of youth triathlon. The numbers are impressive. From 2007 to 2009, USA Triathlon youth membership nearly doubled from 16,000 to 31,000, with half of those members being 10 years old or younger. The segment features the IronKids National Triathlon Series with footage from June's IronKids Raleigh Triathlon.
