Based in Mount Airy, MD, the MINI COW TRI CLUB was co-founded in 2008 by husband and wife team Brian and Christy Lausch and became an Official USA Triathlon club in the Spring of 2010.
Christy brings 15 years of multisport experience to the MINI COW TRI CLUB including qualifying for Team USA in 2008 and 2010, achieving USA Triathlon's All American ranking in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and qualifying for and competing at the Ironman World Championship 70.3 in 2009 and 2010. Christy holds both a USA Triathlon Certified Level I Coach and a USA Triathlon Youth & Junior Coaching Certification. In addition to her own training, Christy leads curriculum development for all club sponsored clinics and camps, and trains the MINI COW TRI CLUB Youth Triathlon Racing Team. While at this time primarily a development club, the MINI COW TRI CLUB consistently places youth triathletes on the podium. In 2011, Christy coached 18 youth triathletes to 57 individual performances and 24 podium finishes. In July 2012, Christy was one of a select few USA Triathlon Youth & Junior Coaches that led a six-day USA Triathlon Junior Triathlon Select Camp in Massachusetts.

After nearly 13 years of supporting first Christy's and then his children's multisport training and racing, Brian completed his first multisport event, the inaugural DUthe2 Duathlon in August of 2011, on a twenty year old borrowed bike. A lifelong runner, Brian's endurance running experience dates back to the 1996 Los Angeles Marathon. In the Fall of 2010 Brian ran the Baltimore Marathon and Marine Corps Marathon within two weeks of each other, setting a PR at Baltimore. If Christy is the face of the MINI COW TRI CLUB then Brian is its voice—marketing, blogging, status updating, tweeting, photographing, and all things creative for the MINI COW TRI CLUB. Brian is a USA Triathlon Certified Race Director and race directs the Splash & Dash at Waverly Woods, Nottingham Kids Triathlon and Kids Adventure BOOathlon at Knill's Farm Market, and project manages the Maryland Youth Triathlon Series.
Brian and Christy's children Anna and Benjamin, ages 13 and 11, were the very first MINI COW TRI CLUB members, and have been participating in youth triathlons throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware for seven years. In 2012, they podiumed at each triathlon they raced.
