2012 USA TRIATHLON MID-ATLANTIC YOUTH REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Nottingham Kids Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2012, and will once again serve as the USA Triathlon Mid-Atlantic Youth Regional Championship! Just because we can, we're opening registration a day early on Leap Day, February 29, 2012! ABOUT THE NKT
In its fifth year, the Nottingham Kids Triathlon presented by the MINI COW TRI CLUB encourages healthy lifestyle choices through multisport with an emphasis on fun! Open to all knights and maidens ages 7 to 15 (age as of December 31, 2012, per USA Triathlon age up rules), the Nottingham Kids Triathlon will challenge young triathletes with graduated race distances based on their age:

7-8 year olds: 50 yard swim, 2 mile bike, .5 mile run
9-10 year olds: 100 yard swim, 2 mile bike, .5 mile run
11-12 year olds: 100 yard swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run
13-15 year olds: 150 yard swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run

The races will be run consecutively, with our older triathletes starting first. Triathletes will be grouped in waves based on age, and all races will start and finish at the Nottingham Swim Club.

The swim takes place in the Nottingham Swim Club's 25 meter, six lane, outdoor pool. The bike course is a two mile loop through the rolling hills of Nottingham (11-15 year olds will complete two loops). The run is flat and fast with a cross country style finish.

Chip timing, split times and results will be provided by our friends at Racine MultiSports, and 24 USA Triathlon Mid-Atlantic Youth Regional Champions will be crowned across a total of eight age groups!

THE DEETS
When: Saturday, August 25, 2012, 8:30 a.m.
Where: Nottingham Swim Club, 1104 Kingsbridge Terrace, Mount Airy, MD.
Who: Knights and maidens ages 7 to 15 (age as of December 31, 2012, per USA Triathlon age up rules). Membership to the Nottingham Swim Club is not required to participate.
Fee: $50. USA Triathlon Youth Membership required. No race day registration. No refunds.
